TEVET

The Department is responsibilities for Technical Education, Vocational Training and Entrepreneurship Training (TEVET) examinations. The core responsibilities include;

  • Setting  examinations
  • Commissioning of draft setters
  • Train  setters /examiners
  • Oversee moderation panels
  • Ensure  papers are typeset & proofread
  • Prepare examination timetables
  • Print, package and dispatch exams to centres
  • Monitor conduct  continuous assessments
  • Monitor the  conduct of examinations (spot checking)
  • Coordinate marking
  • Process results and once approved send to centres
  • Process certificates for successful candidates
  • Verify technical qualifications

The examinations under TEVET are offered at various levels which include the following;

  • Various Trades
  • Craft Certificates
  • Advanced Certificate or Technician
  • Technologist or Diploma

The main areas of the TEVET programmes and examinations include;

(a) Secretarial

(b) Engineering-The main programmes under Engineering are Electrical and Electronics, Automotive, Mechanical and  Construction.

(c) Paramedical

(d) Hotel and Catering

(e) Media and Applied Ethics

(f) Aviation

(g) Business Studies
