Business in central town of Ndola on 21st June 2017 came to a standstill when the District Education Board (Ndola District) launched the campaign against Examinations Malpractice. The theme of the campaign was “Zero Tolerance on Examination Malpractice.”
Before being addressed at Ndola Skills, Pupils in examination classes, selected teachers, head teachers, representatives from the Parents’ Teacher Associations, Zambia Police Officers and some Ward Councillors matched through the central town. While matching, leaflets produced by the Examinations Council of Zambia were distributed to the public. The event was so colourful that it attracted the attention of the entire town centre. The brass band, the majorettes, dancing troops and poems offered entertainment during the campaign.
To mark the climax of the whole event, speeches on the dangers of Examinations malpractice were delivered at Ndola skills. Among the speakers were, the Provincial Education Office representative, Manager- Examinations Council of Zambia (Kitwe Service Centre), Ndola District Education Board Secretary- DEBS and the District Commanding Officer from the Zambia Police.
The DEBS, Ndola is commended for the initiative taken in the fight against examinations malpractice and other districts and Provinces are encouraged to organise similar events in order to sensitize the public on the DANGERS OF EXAMINATIONS MALPRACTICE.
